Step into Kurashiki with the keen gaze of a kingfisher as your guide, Kawa.
Today, you'll ascent the hill of the achi shrine, where you'll find a wondrous wisteria tree that has been taken care of for over a couple of centuries. A wonderful sight to behold, and it leads you straight to the first temple of today. The Achi Shrine! At the Achi shrine there are a multitude of deities deified such as Daruma-san, the god of wishes. After having enjoyed the view, you will descend to the historical quarters, where you'll find the amazing canals and where you might even be able to take a small boat onto said canals. Consequently, you'll be traversing the marketplaces, storehouses, whispered tale of edo-era merchants, and the meiji industry. Finally, you'll head back to the station where a Danish author has had his statue erected in the form of a clock guarded by four historically inaccurate vikings! Your day can't get more Japanese than this and I'm excited to guide you through all of it, so let's get started!
